INTEGRATED APPROACH IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE 

National science day 202 theme is 'INTEGRATED APPROACH IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE'. The theme was launched by Dr Jitendra singh , who specially mentioned that the purpose behind selecting this theme was to raise public appreciation and awareness about the scuentific issues.

Role of  science ad technology in achieving sustainable development;    

                       Transforming scientific breakthroughs inti new technologies can have a profound impact on development , but wise stewardship of theses technologies is essential .One challenge of sustainable development is to use technology in such a way that it imbalances advances in productivity with long-term resource viability.

what is the meaning of integrated approach?

                   The integral approach to teaching technology combines content area instruction with computer skills . Rather than learning computer skills in their computer class , the students are given projects which involve technology in all of their classes.

 sustainability science focuses on the dynamic interactions between nature and society . The last decade has witnessed the emergence of an array of increasingly vibrant movements to harness science and technology (S$T) in the quest for a transition toward sustainability.

                                                  Hardware , software , know-how, and other technologies are an essential tool for sustainable development. they can be instrumental  in ensuring that people : have access to clean water (through water purification , efficiency , delivery, and sanitation technologies);

                 According to Jitendra singh , the theme has been chosen for the purpose of raising public appreciation of the scientific issues involved. He added that celebrations of important scientific days should not remain o one-day event and there is need to build upon this on a regular basis.

           " INTEGRATION OF SCIENCE IS BASED ON FOUR PILLARS. AND THESE PILLARS INCLUDE COMING TOGETHRE OF ALL  SCIENCE MINISTRIES AND DEPARTMENTS TO WORK ON THE THEME - BASED APPROACH OF PROBLEM-SOLVING" said singh .                

             

The two other pillars, Singh added, were extended science integration aligned with technical, engineering, and medical institutes and extra science integration in alignment with line ministries/departments of the central government. the fourth pillar, he said, was an extended science-driven approach involving industries and startups leading to a sustainable future.

                      The minister said that he is planning a national science conclave in the coming days involving science ministries and departments from the center and all states and union territories to deliberate upon pressing problems in India and effective solutions for the problems.

Professional engineers have an important and significant role to meet the sustainability. They work to enhance the welfare, health and safety, with the minimal use of natural resources and paying attention with regard to the environment and the sustainability of resources.
